Biography

Tokhi is involved in many music projects as a percussion player.
Apart from the music activities, he is also a Drum Circle Facilitator – He organizes workshops for companies, schools and festivals. He set up the drums orchestra Groove Army, which is based on principles of famous world samba bands from the Brazilian Rio de Janeiro.

Each month he has several concerts both in the Czech Republic and worldwide. He is currently performing with those projects:

Tokhi has been actively involved in music since his childhood. He has gained success at the Czech and international scene. As a percussion player and ethnic drums player he co-worked with many artists from all around the world, i.e.: Karel Gott, Jana Koubková, Vlasta Redl, Ilona Csáková, Laura a její tygři, UDG, Pavel Fajt, Emil Viklický, 1OO°C, Shahab Tolouie, Feng Yun Song, Vesna Caceres, Ondřej Ruml, Work – Shop & More (legendary Hiram Bullock a Freda Goodlett) etc.

With those bands he travelled in major European countries, visited New York in the USA, and as a part of the EXPO 2010 exhibition he performed in China. He sold out concert halls as well as stadiums in most of European countries. He is a sought-after studio player and acclaimed musician on the Czech and international scene.

Because of his enthusiasm, visage and talent he is involved in campaigns and other media cooperation, i.e. Kytary.cz and campaign mBank  – grand roadshow celebrating the 5th anniversary of mBank on the Czech and Slovak market.

Tokhi also acts as company and sponsor player for the music instruments manufacturers – MeinlFinholKytary.czFlixMapexCympadKorg and Boomwhackers. The company Balbex (drums sticks manufacturer) makes special sticks with signature based on his design called Artist Signature Series – they are being sold in whole Europe. Tokhi himself creates signed instruments and clothes in cooperation with Swedish, Portuguese and Polish company. Among his teachers belong the industry masters from USA, Italy, Africa, Denmark or Germany.

And that’s not everything!

Tokhi is an author of percussion and various drums instruments music tests for technical magazine intended for musicians and music community (Muzikus). He also made a video tests for Jamstage.cz and he is a co-author of music vodeoblog WOO on the popular internet TV Stream.cz.

He led classes in Germany and USA about the rhythm and history of the drums instruments, performed at the flamenco classes in the dance studios Naboso and Pena Flamenca. He is well recognized musician in the flamenco circle playing instrument called cajon.

With various projects Tokhi visited all important places in the Czech Republic – Prague Castle, Zofin, Lucerna Hall, O2 Arena, The States Opera in Prague…
